MaddenRatings.net tracks McNabb's ratings from Madden NFL 2001 through Madden NFL 12, covering his prime years in Philadelphia and his later seasons with Washington and Minnesota.

From 86 Overall to 97
McNabb's Madden career shows a steady rise into the elite quarterback tier.
He began at 86 overall in Madden NFL 2001, then climbed to 90, 92, and 95 over the next three releases.
He remained at 95 in Madden NFL 2005 before reaching his peak of 97 overall in Madden NFL 06.
That represents an 11-point increase from his first recorded Madden rating.

The Philadelphia Peak
McNabb's highest Madden ratings came during the most successful portion of his Philadelphia career.
He was rated:
95 OVR — Madden NFL 2004
95 OVR — Madden NFL 2005
97 OVR — Madden NFL 06
That stretch corresponds with McNabb's emergence as one of the NFL's top quarterbacks. Philadelphia reached the NFC Championship Game four consecutive times from 2002 through 2005 and reached Super Bowl XXXIX after the 2004 season.
Although the Eagles lost the Super Bowl to New England, the 2004 season remains one of the defining years of McNabb's career.

Six-Time Pro Bowler and Eagles Legend
McNabb made six Pro Bowls, including five consecutive selections from 2000 through 2004. The Eagles later named him their starting quarterback on the franchise's 75th Anniversary Team and inducted him into the Eagles Hall of Fame in 2013. His No. 5 was also retired by Philadelphia.
Those accomplishments help provide context for his Madden ratings. His 95–97 overall stretch wasn't simply a high rating on a video game roster; it coincided with the most successful period of his NFL career.

The Washington Chapter
After 11 seasons with Philadelphia, McNabb moved to the Washington Redskins for the 2010 season.
Madden NFL 11 lists him at 89 overall with Washington.
His departure from Philadelphia also coincided with the emergence of Michael Vick, who took over as the Eagles' starting quarterback in 2010 and enjoyed a strong season.
McNabb's Madden rating continued to decline during this later stage of his career.

Final Season in Minnesota
In 2011, McNabb was traded from Washington to the Minnesota Vikings.
MaddenRatings.net's final entry lists him at 82 overall, with a roster update noting his move to Minnesota.
That 82 overall rating represents a significant decline from his 97 peak in Madden NFL 06, but it also marks the end of a Madden career that began at 86 overall and spent several years in the 90s.

Madden Ratings Analysis
Donovan McNabb's Madden history follows a fairly clear career progression.
He starts at 86 overall, steadily develops into an elite quarterback, reaches 97 during his Philadelphia peak, and then gradually declines as his career moves toward Washington and Minnesota.
The 86 → 97 rise is an 11-point improvement, while the later 97 → 82 decline shows how dramatically Madden's evaluation changed during the final stages of his career.
His Madden ratings are especially interesting when placed alongside his real NFL accomplishments. McNabb became the winningest quarterback in Eagles history and finished his Philadelphia career as the franchise leader in passing yards, completions, and touchdowns.
